Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg. We’ve all heard of them, and we know about their tremendous success. But what happened before they were successful? This is a question we constantly ask at Take Risks Be Happy, as we learn how successful entrepreneurs, artists, and creatives got started. One website recently created a great timeline, called the Fleximize Careers of the Founders Timeline, with important milestones in the careers of famous founders.
As people enthusiastic about the entrepreneurial and artistic lifestyle, it’s easy to be hard on ourselves. It’s easy to think ‘I’m too old’ ‘I’ll never have a great idea.’ ‘I’ll never be successful.’ The great value of this resource is that it shows the success and failures of famous people who took risks. It shows that success does not always come easily. There is no one size fits all model to success. Perhaps more importantly, it shows that monetary and entrepreneurial success is simply a point in time on the timelines of our lives. It is not a destination, it is a journey.
